Can we generate Serial number for Non-Serialized items

Summary:

Hello Experts,

I have a business scenario where the Items are non-serialized. These items are getting manufactured via Work Order in Oracle fusion. Once they are manufactured, quantity in 1000s are getting stored in a package box.

This Package Box should have a label printed for it. The label details should have the Item name & Unique serial number per box.

To print the label, there is an interface where we need to provide Item name and Serial Number (association of Item to Serial number is checked in the Interface) as parameters and Labels will be printed out. My question is, can we create Serial number for the Non Serialized Item that is getting manufactured in any way possible?
