How to custom the seeded data model in order to add flexfields

Content (required):

Hi,

I need to add flexfields from one Profiles section (Honor and Awards) in the approval and FYI notifications.

I wish to create a custom Data Model based on the seeded one (Shared/Human Capital Management/Workflow Notifications/Data Model/ProfileApprovalNotificationDM).

I have average knowledge in SQL but the queries for Honors and Awars in this DM contain functions like per_bipntf_utility.getAttributeFromTXNContext(:ptransactionid,'PersonName') or extractvalue(value(itemrow),'//ApprovalContentItemId/DATA') that I am not at all familiar with.

So I don't understand everything in the queries and struggle to find documents about that.
