Remove Future Assignment from Learning Community??

Summary:

How do I remove an assignment that I had created with a future assignment date? Company has changed their mind and the assignment for the related course is no longer applicable. I've removed the course from the catalog and I've set all the access and visibility rules to "No Access" so the course will never show in the catalog, but I can't remove the assignment in any way.

We can also talk about the fact that the system says I have 13 future assignments, when I really only have one, but my focus is making sure this doesn't get assigned to the community.
