VB Studio for AppUI development

Can we use our own provisioned VB Studio for AppUI development?

Content (required):

As i understand a free V Studio is provisioned against one of the SaaS POD (default TEST but can be switched for DEV by raising SR) and can be used for Development and CI/CD.

But we already have a VB Studio that we have been utilizing for VBCS App development.

We tried adding the SaaS environment and using that for creating AppUI extension but the Preview within the workspace does not work.

So can we develop only using the SaaS provisioned VBS? Is there any workaround or will be supported in future ?
