standby log apply pause

Summary:

Hi, I have a critical activity to perform and part of the plan is to disable standby´s log apply temporarily : if everything goes well at primary site, log apply will be resumed, otherwise standby site it will be open (failover).

So, am I allowed to do this ? issue DG broker command to stop log apply at standby site ?
