Capital Asset work in progress

Summary:

Customer is using Financial, Workforce and Capital module and would like to have feature of Capital Work in progress at asset level . Is there any option of marking asset as CIP at asset level in OOTB Capex module using some customization ?

As per my understanding Asset can only be new or capitalized .

Does anyone have implemented this feature at asset level so that capitlized part to be considered for Depreciation and WIP to be reported separately.
