Is it possible to deduct absence that spans into a new period from the previous period balance?

Summary:

Deduct absence days taken from last year till the current year from last years balance only.

Content (required):

Our client have employees that took leave days from last year spanning to this year, for example, Dec. 29, 2022 - Jan. 5, 2023. We just ran the accrual this year and the carryover limit has been effected. Can we re-calculate to allow the leave taken to be deducted from last years balance?
