Can anyone please explain the difference between the work arounds mentioned for splitting an asset once they are posted as provided in Oracle Document ID 2854009.1 & 164247.1?

As per Oracle Document ID 2854009.1, the workaround mentioned is "to add (to create) zero cost assets and do source lines transfers to them". so for e.g. an asset with number 201 was created with 4 units and cost of Rs. 400. then as per the solution 3 new assets should be created with zero cost and units as 1 and source line transfer should be performed from asset number 201 to these 3 new assets. However in this case asset number 201 will still have 4 units instead of 1. So should we adjust the units from 4 to
