Create Item Rule Using Segmented Field or Catalog/Category

We are trying to set up an item rule to change the value in an EFF field from ‘Y’ to ‘N’ when the item status is switched from Active to any other status AND the Brand is a certain value (ex. Brand = ‘NI’). We’ve successfully created a rule with Status <> Active but have not been able to get to work when adding in the Brand clause. 

Content (required):

The brand can be identified in 2 ways:

1.      The first two digits of the 4th segment of the Sales Account (ex: 101-0000-0000-010704-410005-000-0000-0000). This field is located under Specifications on the Sales and Order Management page, under the group Invoicing.
