Change in Grade step not updating salary

Summary:

We are using Grade Step Ladder and each step has a rate associated with it. But when the assignment is updated with the Grade Step, it is not updating the salary and Payroll is picking the previous grade rate

We would require any change in Grade Step at assignment, automatically update the salary. Is this possible and if it is, how this can be configured?
