Any reason Auditor role can't/shouldn't be granted ability to run pre-defined Extracts?

Is there a specific reason why the ability to run a predefined application extract can't/shouldn't be incorporated into the Auditor role in EDMCS?

We have a group of users who not only need read-only access to view data, but also the ability to run pre-defined application extracts on demand. This seems like a logical (even more or less required) auditing function, yet if there's any way permissions can be set to grant such access to a user with the Auditor role, we have yet to find it. A search of the forum turned up no hits, but before submitting an Idea for this, we wanted to check and see if we were overlooking anything obvious and/or technical that would preclude adding
