Is it possible to delete a product property?

Summary:

We would like to delete a product property to recreate it as shortText type.

We have 3 properties called height, width and weight that we would like to change their types to shortText, but as far we know their types can't be changed, we have to delete and recreate it. Is it possible to delete and recreate it? How to achieve that?
