We are using weekly timecard for this implementation starting Sun-Sat. When an employee is working in night shift e.g. Sat 8 PM to Sun 8 AM and Saturday is the last day in the pay period.

So part of shift(4 hours) falls on Saturday (8 PM – 12 AM) and 8 hours falls under Sunday (12 AM – 8 AM). Employee is eligible for Daily overtime.

Since employee has worked 12 hours,8 hours of Regular time needs to be paid and 4 hours of Overtime.


 Business is expecting to pay overtime on Saturday. Since hours are split across 2 pay periods it will not be possible for us to pay overtime on Saturday, since we do not have Submitted timecard where hours are fixed and there is a possibility of next week timecard entries getting changed
