Summary:

We have a use case for substituting Bill of material with its next available version if any of the component/s in bill do not have sufficient onhand balance available in system.

Content (required):

For example, we have one bill of material defined as BOM1, with component items as A1, B1, C1 and D1. It is a single level bill. We have the other versions of the same bill available with minor variations.

Like BOM2 with component items as A1, B1, C2 and D2.

One more version BOM3 with component items as A1, B2, C2 and D3.

All these A*, B*, C* and D* items are finished goods or shippable items.

Howdy, Stranger!
