DFFs for Contract Documents

Summary:

We are looking for DFF functionality on the Contract Documents tab. For example, a custom "Status" field on the Contract Document with LOV options like (In Progress, Verified, Active), or a custom document "Effective Date" field.

We cannot find Contract Documents in the Manage Contract Descriptive Flex Fields task. Does this DFF exist under another name?

Or, if the flexfields don't exist, what would be the approach to mimic Contract Document DFF functionality using customization?
