Running translation within an on-demand rule?

Is it possible to run translation within an ODR?

I am trying to create a rule that relies on data being translated after certain other calculations within the rule are performed. Currently, I am thinking my only option is a ruleset, where I divide the single rule into 2, then run translation via REST API in between as a separate Groovy rule. Is there a better way to do this in a single rule instead of a ruleset?

I did try to run a Essbase calc script within a Groovy script, but it appears that this may not be supported in FCC? (I get a validation error)
