What is the best way to search for duplicate objects in EDM.

We have a single route-to-live but sometimes developers create objects before correctly checking for duplicates, this often occurs a when new change is not merged into the primary development environment, before migrate changes for testing in further environments. We need to check for duplicate objects across the whole of the RT, so these duplicates don't make it to production.
