Using Supporting Details

Summary

Supporting Details is very cumbersome to use through the UI. Is there an easier way for a user to build their budget/forecast by line item?

There are cost centre managers in our organization who like to build to up their budget/forecast for an account by item (ie: budget for software subscription is broken down by Vendor). To enable this, they are heavy user of supporting details. Unfortunately, this is very cumbersome to use through the UI, especially when there can be 10+ line items for 1 account. Is there an easier way for users to enter in supporting details or include the line items of their budget in Hyperion? Could this be done through Smartivew?
