FAQs for standard costing users

Content

1. Can I delete, deactivate, or update a standard cost?

Yes. Standard costs are defined in the context of cost scenarios. You can modify your standard costs as long as the scenario is not published. Once the scenario is published, your standard costs are frozen. You can unpublish (undo cost update) the scenario and make changes to your costs, as long as any cost from that scenario has not yet been used for costing transactions.

2. Does a standard cost include overhead costs?

Yes. When you define standard costs you can include overhead cost components. The cost processor processes these overhead cost components as part of the total standard cost, at the time of transaction costing.
