How to disable/delete any learning items in a way that they dont appear on the user's learning pages

1. Is it possible to delete learning items like courses, initiatives etc, so that they are not only no more available to the users/learners but also are no more visible for any kind of access?
2. Ref. Oracle document Oracle Fusion Learning Cloud: Can Learning Specialists Delete Learning Items? (Doc ID 2736442.1) , ""Offerings, Courses, and Specializations cannot be deleted but can be disabled using the Publish End Date setting on the Learning Item. This will hide the Learning Item from users but not from Learning Specialists."" But for some reason they are not disappearing and are still visible.

Please suggest.
