Looking for guidance to terminate the recuring or month-on-month contract

Summary:

We have a scenario where a regular revenue contract (3/5/7 year contract) gets converted to a recurring or month – on- month contract once contract tenure is complete.

We need a guidance to terminate such recuring contract if need arises. 

Content (required):

Oracle suggests us to revise the original contract by terminating it.

We are facing issue while terminating the original contract as termination date has to be within plan start and end date only (which is past period) while revenue is already recognized for each date for that contract. Additionally,  RMCS is throwing error as the Revision Date can not be closed period date.
