Multiple Commerce Process Impact

We are planning to have another commerce process to accommodate a new business, as the existing commerce actions are already having performance issues due to multiple business rules. I have a basic query on the same, If we plan to move one of the existing businesses also to the new commerce process, will there be any impact on the existing transactions when they Copy, and revise old transactions? Old transactions RestAPI calls will have the old commerce process ID. So I just want to understand if it is recommended to move any existing business to a new commerce process and
