Creating flexfield using value set type Table.

The customer requested the creation of a flexfield associated with a table that allows more than 150 characters. Based on that, I'd like to ask two questions about flexfield, as we couldn't find any documentation on the subject:

1. Is it possible to search a field with more than 150 characters, and create a conditional so that only the first 150 are occupied in the flexfield?

2. Is it possible to search a field/table that respects up to 150 characters, and create a rule so that when selecting a line from the list of values, another field is filled in automatically? Example: When selecting the Contract number, the name is also taken automatically.
