What is the best practice for changing a Cost Center assigned to a project, where the accounting is assigned at the project task level?

Content (required):

Currently, our accounting for projects is driven at the project task level. We have cases where we want to change the Cost Center assigned to a project (and thus all project tasks), but it seems like a laborious activity to update all of the tasks on numerous projects when we want to do this. Is there an efficient and effective way to make this kind of update so that it propagates out to all tasks and other related modules, such as fixed assets, procurement, etc.
