Method to hide items from Quick Add and Parts Search?

Summary: We have a handful of parts that we need to keep active, but do not want users to add via the quick add (lightning bolt in Jet UI) nor the part search.

Reason for this - we have some scripting that is required to populate an attribute based on a configuration choice. So these are effectively configuration-only parts.

We need to see if there is a way to remove them from quick add without making them inactive. However, parts being inactive doesn't seem to solve it either?

Additionally, the part search functionality is able to be updated with the XSL files in the page templates portion of CPQ, however the XML functionality that feeds the data to part search I don't believe we're able to alter unless someone knows a better way.
