Planning Based On Historical Data

Summary:

Currently the customer is doing all their planning in Excel. With the following steps involved.

1. Get the historical Production figures, and Shipment figures

2. Get historical downtimes, Historical resource utilization , Historical process efficiency

3. Use formulas to calculate planned production figures in Excel based on other variables like %Moisture, Crushing Loss, P2O5 unit usage (and a host of other such technical factors)


However,

1. The way Oracle planning works is based on setups done in Inventory, Manufacturing (BOM, Recipe, Routing, Formula), and other modules

2. System will check these setups to calculate available capacity and future planned orders

3. Demand Planning can only forecast for Finished Goods based on Historical Shipments
