Can we edit Contact Details post termination?

Hi all,

We have employees who are now terminated and don't have a personal email address in their Contact Details section. We now need to update this so we can send that personal email to our payroll provider, but it appears you cannot edit Contact Details section once terminated. Has anyone found a workaround for this?
