I received the attached rejection notice for adding an assignment for a graduate assistant. I understand that this is an issue with the system and that I will likely need to submit a rehire for him once his current appointment ends. I can (and will) do that but this is a major issue that needs to be resolved within the HCM system.

After talking with colleagues who regularly process graduate assistant employment actions we are concerned about this for several reasons.

First, having to wait until a current assignment ends requires expedited approval and leaves open the possibility that an employee could miss a paycheck if the rehire is not approved and processed before the HR processing deadline.
