Seeking Best Practice Advice for Linking Employee and Supplier in Oracle Cloud

I have a question regarding our migration from EBS to the cloud. Currently, at the vendor level in the classification section, there is a direct connection between this field and HR.

Our goal is to convert an employee into a supplier with the Supplier type set as "Employee" while maintaining the existing employee number from HR.

In the cloud solution,

it seems the option is to open a Descriptive Flexfield (DFF) and link it to HR.

However, I wanted to inquire if there is a recommended best practice method for achieving this without relying on a DFF.
