Workflow notifications - action required? Remain as Assigned but process is complete?

Hello,

We are a little confused by some of our workflows which have an FYI Stage where payroll notifications are sent.

This is the last step in the workflows however the remain as saying assigned in BPM but the transaction is complete, does someone need to action something for this to no longer say assigned?
