Email in HCM not matching primary SMTP email causing approval issues

Summary:

We have a scenario where employees have a different email in HCM vs their primary SMTP email in outlook. We are doing this to meet a certain requirement outside of HCM.

E.g.

HCM - employee@example.com

Primary SMTP email - employee@company.com

Is there a way to make the approval validation work and not get the "The response message is not from the original account to which notification had been sent. Actionable notifications should be responded from the same account to which it had been sent." error
