Projects posts payables

Are there other options for posting payables invoices from projects to GL instead of the flow of accounting being AP to GL?

I am working with a customer Project Manager who has been advised this is possible, I have done basic research and do not find a flow where this is possible, so asking in this forum to make sure I've exhausted the research. Thank you!
