Where are private Connections physically stored in users machine

Summary:

Where are private Connections physically stored in users machine

Content (required):

We are planning to change all the users Private Connections to move their connections from Classic Environments to Gen2 Environment URLs.

We are assuming these private connections get stored each users local machine in a XML file somewhere in SmartView or Microsoft Path and see if we can edit and change these and redistribute to all the users to over ride with new file.

Have any one tried this approach.?
