We do not have auto assignments. Accounts are created by respective users or Mr.X creates an account and assigns it to the relevant person. Every user owns specific dimension criteria when dealing with accounts, so there is no scope for the territory to have owner + team members with common dimensions as every user's criteria are unique and they are account dimensions. So, I don't see a point in setting up territory, but quotas have to be assigned to territories and the quota value has to be distributed to territory members and the forecasting has to be in place. What
