Pipeline Sequence- Inconsistent Order when launched

Summary: Has anyone noticed inconsistencies with the order of the stages and jobs within stages when running pipelines? Is there a limit to the number of jobs within a single stage?

Content (required):I have built a pipeline to load 12 months of data and have noticed that despite the pipeline running in sequence mode, when I run the pipeline, the order of the stages within the pipeline is inconsistent and the order of the jobs within the stages is not in the sequential order that was identified upon setup.
