How do I customize the build-in dashboards, eg. Payables Dashboard?

Content (required):

I have a requirement to customize this dashboard:

The only thing that I need to add is a new column to the existing table, showing validation status...

But is are any way that I can edit this? I have searched allover, but I'm not really getting any useful answers...

I'm pretty sure I need to do something in a sandbox, but my big issue is to even locate the table 🙂
