Customization in Disability Overwritten after Upgrade

We have implemented a customization in the Disability page (Navigation: My Client Groups > Personal Details) to hide the field Category given that this field is not applicable to the country being implemented. We were able to successfully hide this previously but apparently, it was overwritten after our upgrade to 23B. Would like to confirm if at all it is possible to hide said field and if so, is there a way to ensure that it does not get overwritten during upgrades.
