In alert recipient how to get manager from active assignment instead of suspended

Summary:

In alert composer recipient section we want to get the manager's username from the employee's active assignment.

Content (required):

We have an employee that is on Global temporary assignment hence has two assignment rows - One active (host) and another Suspended (home). We want alert to send notification to the manager given on the active assignment. Currently ${AlertUtils.empManager(workers.PersonId).UserName} is sending notification to the suspended assignment.

How can we make it select manager from active assignment.
