What is the best way to get config data out of CPQ?

Summary:

We are trying to extract config data from CPQ. The purpose of the data is to be able to report and or take action on from a variety of side systems external to CPQ.

Content (required):

We started this approach using the Data Cube integration within CPQ. Our current thought is to use a formatted text of the _config_attr_info system attribute from commerce within the report xml mappings of the Data Cube integration. One issue is that this data can be quite large so not sure if a DB field will be able to store it downstream...
