Reassigning Approvals once the approver is terminated before approving the transaction

Hi,

We had a requirement where a transaction is submitted, and the approvals goes to his/her Line Manager. While the approvals are still pending for the particular Line Manager we terminate them. So the transaction should be forwarded to the terminated manager's line manager. I ran some processes as per a document which I saw relating to this particular issue. But still in the transaction console it shows as if the approvals are still with the first terminated line manager, it's not forwarding to his/her manager even though he was terminated.
