CPQ to perform Explode LI before submitting Sales Order

Customer ha requested this functionality in CPQ:

  • users should be able to request some specific SKU with whatever quantity they need
  • BUT, when these specific SKU are fulfilled, they have to be fulfilled one by one. Meaning: user can request SKU with quantity 10, but when provisioning starts CPQ must send 10 distinct SKU with quantity 1 and therefore CPQ must create (if fulfillment is OK) 10 assets

Is there a smart way to perform this "Explode" functionality? that is cloning an SKU quantity X in X SKU with quantity 1?
