Default variables in EMD + lookup function in link tables

Hi,

I was wondering if someone could help. In the Classic version of Responsys, I used touse $nothing()$ for variables if I didn't need anything to be displayed.

When I went for training on EMD, I was told that in the workbook, I would be able to use the same, however all this does is display $nothing()$, which I don't want it to do, I want it to display nothing at all.

I tried using $nothing{} thinking this might require the RPL way to display nothing, but that also just return the RPL to be displayed.

If I leave the default value blank, the campaign skips or gives me an error so that is not an option. Currently I'm solving this by putting a space in, but I'm guessing this is not best practice.

Howdy, Stranger!
