Difference Between using /analytics and /xmlpserver?

What are the major differences in using OBIEE and BI Publisher?

Had an issue recently wherein a folder was hidden and it was preventing me from customizing reports. The option to show Hidden files were only available in OBIEE, not in BI Publisher. That got me wondering, what are the major differences in using OBIEE  (https://xx.oraclecloud.com/analytics) and BI Publisher (https://xx.oraclecloud.com/xmlpserver)? Seems most of their features are the same.
