Custom Data Object use to contain Campaign data and members

Does anyone have any experience with using CDO's to contain the data required for a singular campaign.

Allowing multiple emails to go out to the same email address and with the ability to delete the records after the campaign. The record would contain all the required fields for field merges and dynamic content.

It would be interesting to know the advantages or disadvantages of this in a risk adverse environment.
