Can AOR be delegated

Summary: Is delegation or re-allocation on AOR possible when employees are on leave

Like vacation rules or delegation of approval flows, can areas of responsibility be re-allocated or delegated? We have AOR defined for specialists based on scope (department, emp lastname/firstname etc) and are wanted the process/functionality that can be used when these specialists plan vacations or backup allocation when they are out sick. We are aware that the AOR can also be assigned to a second representative but that would be an admin tasks.

Can the specialist delegate/assign out by themselves? What is the standard recommendation to handle this scenario?
