how to manually enter BOL number in shipment header?

Hey Guys,

is there any way to manually enter the BOL number in shipment header? I know we can control this number to generate automatically using shipping document sequences, but even if I change it into manual, system still doent allow me to edit this field. can anyone help with this problem?
