How to reduce refresh interval for Live negotiation/auction from 6secs to 1sec

We execute auctions with a 15 minutes timeframe, wherein suppliers place their bids. The minimum refresh interval available is 6seconds, however we need to reduce this further to 1second or ideally real time. This is required because if the auto refresh happens every 6seconds that could potentially mislead the supplier in terms of not providing with Realtime information on bidding unless they keep refreshing manually which is not efficient. Also a supplier meet think it has won the bid based on 6 second lag information whereas someone else might place a lower bid within the last few seconds.
