Long Service Leave absence type is not displaying in the drop down for an employee

Summary:

An employee has a positive Long Service Leave balance but when trying to enter it as the Long Service Leave type, it's not displaying in the drop down list.

Their enterprise hire date is in January 2018, making them eligible. However, their legal employer hire date is in September 2022 because they were re-hired at that time.

Is Long Service Leave not appearing in their absence type drop down because the system is using their legal employer hire date? If so, is there a way to edit that?
