How to make EFF read only for defined roles

How to make EFF read only for defined roles
Content (required):
Hi Team,
Greetings!
We have multiple EFF in use at person level. There is a need to have some of the EFF to be marked as Read Only for defined roles.
But, the read only seems to work either for all EFF or none of the EFFs.
Is it feasible to mark a few EFF as Read Only and remaining EFF as Editable for given role?
Thanks
Parag
