Configuring the FROM address for best deliverability with Eloqua
Hi all. I wanted to check with other Eloqua users to see how you configure your FROM and bounceback addresses to align with best practices.
My organizations uses Eloqua to send emails using a dedicated sub-domain: the learn.pearson.com. We use return@learn.pearson.com as our bounceback address.
When sending an email, we use a 'made up' email address of "pearsonvue@learn.pearson.com" as the FROM address and a real address (for example: john.doe@pearson.com) as the REPLY-TO address.
It's recommended by Eloqua and others to use a FROM address that uses the same sub-domain as your delivery domain. That's why we use a FROM address with learn.pearson.com. However, this FROM address is not actually a valid email address since Eloqua does not provide you a way to receive email on the same sub-domain that is used for sending email.
